Request for clarification

[edit]

If I want to log in to a website from a computer other than my own, what do I do? How do I access my information card? --83.89.0.118 (talk) 23:17, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well this isn't a support channel; but... you don't right now. Not unless you have exported your cards to a device you have with you. Which is why I tell people ICs are not a replacement, but an extra to logins. --Blowdart | talk 13:45, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge with I-Card

[edit]

As I-Card seems to be the short term for Information Card, created after a confusion about Microsoft intentions for the Information Card term (see I-Card#History_of_the_Terms_.22i-card.22_and_.22information_card.22), which has been clarified, the two articles should be merged. Jon207 (talk) 22:57, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think so; Information Cards are an implementation of an I-Card. Whilst an I-Card is a description of an information card, not all I-Cards are information cards. --Blowdart | talk 07:42, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Blowdart, I don't read it that way. It appears to me that the terms are synonymous. Certainly the Information Card Foundation thinks so, as they say "Information Card = InfoCard = I-Card" [1] —Preceding unsigned comment added by Leotohill (talkcontribs) 14:54, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think that simply to avoid confusion, the Information Card and I-Card entries should be merged into a single article, with forwarding. At that point, the article can contain descriptions of the meanings of both I-Card and Information Card and contrast them. Bill (talk) 01:44, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would agree these should be merged. -jim —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jwilleke (talkcontribs) 10:56, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Inclusion of another section to allow similar concepts to be disclosed.

[edit]

I have re-edited this document to re-include the disclosure about Clique Space. Regardless of the reasons for why this content was removed, I suggest that it would perhaps be justifiably more accommodating to create a new section which allows for discussion about concepts related to the subject of identity. It might therefore be acceptable to everyone to disclose comments about Clique Space and other concepts there.

Originally, comments about Clique Space were entered when the page was about Identity Metasystems. While this term sounds abstract and somewhat florid, Information Card seems to have narrowed the scope of discussion significantly. I would not have recommended the name change/merge; I think it pushes the discussion further into a jargonistic corner. My argument is that there's more to the subject of identity than Information Cards, and this change/merge hasn't really done much to have an inclusive discussion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.218.111.23 (talk) 23:40, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
